Hi, my name is Jiovanni Rosario — and I am an engineer, manager, and writer.
Over the past 10 years, I have had multiple tech industry roles. I started as a controls engineer, moved into sales engineering, and was a software developer and instructor. Today, I manage a controls engineering team responsible for supporting data centers. I am passionate about coaching and mentoring and I want to help engineers learn about management.
Why I write on Medium:
When I was considering the management path, I had friends, also engineers, tell me not do it. They said it’ll be long days, I’d have less time for my tasks, and that dealing with people will be hard. To a degree, they were right, but I was already reading blogs and books on the subject. So, I felt prepared to transition into a leadership role.
I’ve been managing an engineering team for a year now. And I’ve learned a lot. My goal is to share those lessons to help you learn about management and support your team, too. The same way others did for me.
